Confirm details or enter them manually

For: designers, engineers, document controllers

Goal: every document on your draft transmittal has a confirmed number, name, and revision.

Prerequisites

  • Documents uploaded to a draft transmittal (Upload documents); extraction has finished.

Confirm extracted details

  1. On the draft transmittal, open a document whose details are pre-filled.
  2. Check the document number, name, and revision against the drawing.
  3. Correct anything wrong, complete anything blank, then confirm.
  4. Alternatively, extraction details for all documents can be confirmed at once via the three-dot (...) menu on the draft transmittal page.

A transmittal cannot be issued while any document's extracted details are still unconfirmed, or while any document is missing its number, name, or revision.

Enter details manually

If extraction left fields blank (unusual title block, scanned original, or poor extraction confidence), simply type the number, name, and revision yourself. Manual entry and extraction end in exactly the same place — a confirmed version.

Assign an upload to an existing document

If a file should be a new version of a document already in the register (say the number extracted slightly differently):

  1. Open the version's details on the draft transmittal.
  2. Search for the existing document by number and assign the version to it (you may need to delete the extracted text to see the existing document number prefill in the drop-down menu).
  3. The version is added to that document as its next version.

Result

Every document row on the transmittal shows a confirmed number, name, and revision, and the "needs confirming" blockers disappear from the issue gate.
